Frida Mendez
Director of Government Relations and Grants
Frida Mendez joined DCLRS after completing a successful internship with the organization in spring 2021 and currently serves as Director of Government Relations and Grants at DCLRS. She holds a degree in Sociology with a minor in Political Science from California State University, Fullerton, and previously worked in the university’s College of Education as well as with the U.S. Census Bureau. Frida is certified by the American Grant Writers Association, Inc., and provides support for grant development and management while overseeing the scheduling and coordination of congressional fly-ins. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Portuguese, she brings strong communication skills to her advocacy work. As the daughter of farm workers, Frida is deeply passionate about agriculture, environmental stewardship, and immigration reform.
