Kate Shenk joined DCLRS in July 2008. Prior to joining DCLRS fulltime, Kate worked with the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management conducting in-depth research on the impacts of climate change on Rhode Island and writing a state manual on green buildings. She also served as an intern with Congressman James Langevin (D-RI) and at DCLRS.

Kate brings a wealth of experience in legislative affairs and research on environmental policy. She has been active in New England politics and involved with the College Democrats and the New Hampshire presidential primaries.

Kate graduated from Bard College with a Master of Science in Environmental Policy. Kate also received a B.A. in Political Science from Muhlenberg College in 2006.
